In modern era, technology has significantly reshaped every aspect of life either it is social, economic or political. Social media platforms like twitter Facebook have become political actors themselves, significantly shaping and influencing public opinion and consequently changing political landscape. Technology has become central to US presidential elections 2024.On one side there is Republican Party i.e. of Donald Trump and on other side there is Democratic Party i.e. of Kamala Harris, both are competitive candidates. Both parties are using digital power to influence people ‘Wired for influence, The High-Tech Fight for the White House in 2024’Voters are undecided about whom to vote, but they are also concerned about their future .
In this case social media make them open to domestic scenario about their health, education, security, foreign policy ,economy, trade and help them to decide rationally through cost benefit analysis, their new president. America is technology dependent country, Gen-z is significantly influenced by digital media and it provides a new platform for political campaign which is most efficient. Republicans or democrats, whom efficiently use technology and use social media platforms as weapon to win this war and succeed in building and influencing public opinion will surely win this election. Republicans always remain silent group and were not very active in political campaigns but in 2024 elections republican took step forward and become active on social media platforms like twitter, Facebook and using them strategically to attain their goal.
Elon Musk is more active than Donald Trump in building public opinion by using AI driven catboats and virtual assistants to engage and influence voters, it is very significant strategy which gives edge to Donald Trump. Through social media, Trump explicitly said that ‘I’m the only president who is not involved in any war, I’m peace builder ‘This statement creates a soft image of republican party shape public opinion and social media is providing direct link between voters and candidates.
It helps in micro targeting by tailoring adds based on voters preferences and timely gives the idea about the biases of voters and predictive models attained by analyzing voter activity on social media platforms, enable them to forecast voter behavior and built new strategies according to interest of voter to influence its behaviour.Also, AI is performing ‘’unseen jobs’ in elections and fueling the propaganda by spreading some misinformation. Technology is also been used for security purpose, to protect poling infrastructure from cyber-attacks. In short, Technology has vast implications in US president elections 2024.
In real fact technology is deciding the next president of US ,party which has skill to use social media efficiently will won the elections and republicans are using technology wisely rather than democrats till now to attain their goal.US elections are not only significant for Americans future but also for whole world .
